Mariah Carey motivates Nelly…: In a recent interview with The Daily Record, rapper Nelly reveals that he sees Mariah Carey as the ultimate inspiration. However, his comments are spawned after his noted failures to repeat the commercial success he enjoyed previously. In other words, he was responding to the criticism that he’s “done goods” to put it bluntly. “Look at Mariah Carey” he says.

“She has a little break. People look at it like it’s over. They have to throw dirt on her. Then all of a sudden, she’s the biggest thing to hit the stage again. Even bigger”.

Um no. He did not compare himself to Mariah FREAKING Carey! I know I must not have read this correctly. Sorry. Mariah is legendary! Nelly may have had a good run but to me, he will always come across as a fad type of artist. However, it’s nice to see he’s inspired by one of the greats! So for that, kudos to him!
