According to The Hollywood Reporter, Randy Jackson is negotiating a deal to manage Mariah Carey. While neither the American Idol judge nor the singer have confirmed the news, sources have revealed that Jackson has recently been at Carey’s label offices for meetings.

The news, however, doesn’t come as a surprise. The two have frequently worked with each other over the past 20 years. Jackson presided over Columbia Records as vice president of A&R, while Carey was signed to the label from 1988 to 2001. Jackson has also been a producer, musical director, songwriter, and musician for Carey. While he has played bass in the studio and on tour for her, more recently on Emancipation of Mimi, Jackson contributed material to Glitter and Charmbracelet and produced Merry Christmas II You.

Jackson was additionally seen accompanying Carey to the set of the music video for Justin Bieber duet “All I Want for Christmas is You.” The video was shot at Macy’s Herald Square in New York. About getting Carey to sing on his album and about working with her, Bieber told MTV: "Mariah Carey is doing it with me! It's incredible. So excited. We wanted Mariah from the beginning, but we kind of thought it was really hard, so we didn't really push the idea. But she's on my label, so we reached out to some people, she got in contact with us, and Randy Jackson was actually at the studio with us, and I was like, 'Yo, you think you can help get Mariah on the Christmas album?' And he was like, 'I'm actually going to see her in New York on Monday,' and I was like 'Yo, go do that!' "Considering her two-decade long career, do you think that going with Jackson is a good move for Carey?

Mariah Carey and John Legend's Christmas duet has finally been unleashed in full for fans' listening pleasure. The song is a remix of "When Christmas Comes" which is taken from Mariah's 2010 holiday album "Merry Christmas II You". It's opened with her singing solo, "The whole world, feels a little bit more love/ When Christmas comes."

She and John then coo together, "And me and you gonna have ourselves, a holiday/ And we don't need nobody else, to celebrate/ And we're gon' kiss our worries." He later takes the lead when delivering, "So many souls hurt/ So many don't have enough/ When Christmas comes/ But baby if you spread love/ Someday it might be enough/ To heal each other, one by one."

A music video for the revamped tune has been filmed earlier this month in Los Angeles. Two images taken during the video shoot show Mariah and John sitting next to each other behind a grand piano, while the other on-set picture sees her lying on a white furry sheet. "It is so freakin' festive!" so she tweeted.

Beside lining up "When Christmas Comes" music video, the wife of Nick Cannon has shot a clip for Justin Bieber's re-recorded version of her song "All I Want for Christmas Is You". In a picture taken from the video set, the R&B diva looks gorgeous wearing a Santa Claus-themed outfit.

Mariah Carey gained 70 lbs. when pregnant with her twins (and first children overall) Moroccan and Monroe. Dem babies were born on April 30 and Carey has already shed the baby weight that every woman gains when preparing to give birth.

However, despite posing naked while pregnant, the diva told Gayle King that she did not want her hubby Nick Cannon to see her in her birthday suit during the home stretch of her pregnancy, when she was at her peak weight.

Carey, 42, is loving her new trim figure, but a few months ago? Not so much! “I had a towel on in the tub,” Carey, the new Jenny Craig ambassador, said. “I’m not lying, I promise you! You think I would let Nick see me looking rancid like that?” Mariah, we love you, but we don’t think being pregnant with twins is a “rancid” look! You were aglow with impending motherhood and carrying two babies means you got bigger!

In addition to covering up with towels in the tub, Carey stayed far, far away from the scales, revealing,
“I didn’t want to know [my weight], because why would I want to feel that bad? I know it was a number that I never want to see again.” Sounds like it was a number that motivated her to quickly lose the excess pounds. Carey even admitted that her penchant for devouring soul food and Italian meals helped her to pack on the weight. She was eating for three, so portion control wasn’t of utmost importance.

She admitted, “Maybe the portions weren’t what they should’ve been. Even as a pregnant woman you kind of have control over it, but you don’t feel like it when you’re pregnant.”

Once she shed the pounds, Carey — who was quick to point out that she is not petite — felt stronger. “I had, like, no bones for a while. It’s important to me to feel my bones!”

There’s diva, and then there is D-I-V-A. That’s just what Mariah Carey is, according to the dressing room demand she made of British TV host Alan Carr’s talk show. Mimi apparently requested that she have a staircase assistant. A what? What school grants degrees in such disciplines? Wait, Let us explain.

We’ve all heard of the crazy requests stars make on their tour riders and to TV shows in order to transform sterile dressing rooms into comforting, homey spaces via familiar and preferred items such as black towels, fruity candles, specific beverages, required thermostat settings and more.

Oh No They Didn’t reports that Carr recalled the time that Carey appeared on his show and her most diva-like request was the aforementioned staircase assistant. No, it’s not an exercise machine or even an exercise app, either! Dem babies’ mama wanted a real, live human being to check the stairs for her, to see if she could walk down them!

Now, before you grunt, groan, hoot and holler about Carey’s diva-like antics with such a request, remember, she wears heels, and very high ones at that. So she has to be extra careful when descending or ascending staircases. She could have lost her footing, taken a nasty tumble and then canceled her appearance, which means everybody, including Alan Carr, would have lost.

If she fell and got hurt, she could have sued, as well. So you see, it was a pre-emptive measure where everyone involved benefitted. Does it really cost any extra money or time to have someone peep the stairs in advance? At least she didn’t ask to be carried (or Carey-ed) up and down the steps. Now that would be divalicious. Carr also said Carey requested a pricey bottle of champagne, too. Whatever a diva wants, a diva gets.

Kim Kardashian's marriage to and divorce from NBA player Kris Humphries has been the brunt of many jokes these past couple of weeks and months. It is no secret that Kim dated Nick Cannon, who is now married to Mariah Carey, on and off for several years. In a recent interview with Gayle King, Mariah Carey indirectly slammed Kim Kardashian and her short-lived marriage.

"Here's the thing, Carey said. "I am a real person so I'm not going to put on a fake Hollywood 'Yes every single time Nick says anything I faint and fall on the floor.' Sometimes we make each other mad. Sometimes I make him mad. That's called why we're not divorced after four months. I got married to stay married. I want some stability for our kids, and Nick feels the same way."

As any happily (or unhappily) married couple knows, marriage is not easy. Those who stay married and happy suggest that a successful marriage is worth every minute—including the tough times. Marriage, just like life, is never perfect.

It appears that Kim Kardashian, for whom this divorce will be her second, does not yet have a grasp on the concept of marriage and staying in a long-term relationship.

Marriage is between two people and is for two people who are willing to compromise and sacrifice for the other and to better the relationship. Kim Kardashian made it clear to Kris Humphries that her life is all about Kim. That is a recipe for disaster.

Mariah Carey, she of the five-octave vocal range, is showing off her new figure. The platinum pop diva, who gave birth to twins in April, recently dropped 30 pounds -- but that's not all that's changed. Carey says pregnancy has made her voice stronger.

“Right now I feel like pregnancy actually helped me vocally,” Carey said, according to the Associated Press. “At this moment my voice is in great shape.”

Certainly sex hormones, like testosterone and estrogen, affect the voice -- for proof, just listen to any boy going through puberty. The same is true of women, according to a University of Iowa Voice Academy page -- the quality of their voice may change depending on whether they're menstruating, pregnant, breastfeeding or menopausal.

"Hormone shifts cause changes inside the larynx," according to the page. "Tissues hold fluid and blood vessels dilate, increasing vocal fold bulk. Puffier vocal folds vibrate differently, making speaking and singing more effortful."

In fact, it goes on to say, because of these changes, "European opera houses used to excuse singers from singing during premenstrual and early menstrual days."

Surprisingly little work seems to be out there studying pregnancy on singing voices -- but one 2011 study from the Journal of Voice tracked the performance of trained singers during the last 12 weeks of pregnancy and about 11 weeks after birth, as well as their estrogen and progesterone levels during that time. They found, among other things, "a perceptible decrease in vocal brightness."

Many of these changes sound like they're more negative than positive; so whether being preggers could improve a voice such as Mariah Carey's remains an open question.

But the Grammy-winning singer has now dropped more than 30 lbs., and has a new job promoting U.S. weight-loss company Jenny. Carey, 42, joined the weight loss program, formerly known as Jenny Craig, in late July just three months after giving birth to her first children -- twins Moroccan and Monroe. "I had a lot of issues," Carey said of her pregnancy, which induced high blood pressure and diabetes. "I cooked soul food for Nick through my entire pregnancy," she added.

The first-time mom told a news conference on Wednesday she felt so large at the end of her pregnancy that she avoided learning her weight. "You see those pictures," she said of the photographs of herself before giving birth in April. "Would you want to know?"

At her heaviest, Carey was so insecure she even wore a towel to cover her body in the bathtub. "You think I would let Nick see me looking rancid like that?" she asked with a laugh. Twirling for reporters in a red, fitted vintage Halston dress, she said she would like to see herself looking as she did in the music video for her 2008 hit "Touch My Body".

"I'm not there, but I'm trying to get there," she said. Carey is the latest celebrity to become a spokeswoman for Jenny, following celebrities such as former "Cheers" star Kirstie Alley. Carey brushed aside rumors of problems between her and her actor/rapper husband of more than three years. The speculation was sparked by a TV interview in October in which Carey said that she trusts Cannon "sometimes.""Me and Nick are the same team...we've never been better," she said, explaining that some jokes between the couple were cut from the interview.

"Here's the thing, I'm a real person" Carey said, explaining that she didn't want to give a "fake Hollywood" answer in the interview. "Sometimes I make him mad, sometimes he makes me mad...that's why we aren't divorced after four months."

Mariah Carey, meet Jenny. (Craig, that is.) The R&B singer and new mama to twins Monroe and Moroccan is the weight loss company's new spokeswoman — er, "brand ambassador," as they like to call it. Carey tells US Weekly that while her new babies have given her priceless things like love and joy, they gave her something else, too: baby weight. A lot of it, the singer says.

"I gained an enormous amount of weight," Carey told US Weekly in the magazine's latest issue, on newsstands today. Apart from weight gain, Carey also suffered gestational diabetes and preeclampsia throughout her troubled pregnancy.

"People don't want to hear you complain," Carey says. "(Pregnancy), it's a blessing — they want to hear that. And it is a blessing — I got doubly blessed — but with twins, they wreak havoc on your body."In July, three months after the twins' April birthday, Carey started a workout and nutrition plan from the weight loss company, consuming 1,500 calories a day and exercising three times a week. After three months, she lost 30 pounds.

"Physically, putting on all that weight for me was so difficult and so dehabilitating," Carey says."I mean, for people who have struggled with this their whole lives, I feel for them so much more now just as a human being, that I want to do something that helps."

Carey's appointment as Jenny's new spokeswoman — and the company's hope of being on a first name basis with consumers — seems to suggest the weight loss company is seeking a younger, hipper image. Carey, 42, is a top pop artist, and a regular feature on the covers of gossip magazines, while past Jenny spokepeople have included lower-profile celebrities: Carrie Fisher, Sara Rue, Nicole Sullivan (who?), Valerie Bertinelli (her?) — and we can't forget Jason Alexander.

Mariah Carey is teaming up with John Legend for a remix of one of her earlier Christmas songs. The duo will collaborate on a remix of Carey's "When Christmas Comes," which was released as part of Carey's 2010 holiday album Merry Christmas II You and originally produced by The Roots' James Poyser. A sneak preview of the forthcoming video has already been released, with Carey riding a car through a snowy landscape and lip-syncing to her own song as it blasts from the car's radio, sung by Legend.

Carey told her fans of the upcoming collaboration by posting a snippet of the video on Twitter: "Coming soon, a legendary musical collabo. #WhenChristmasComes Sorry for the camera work, the snow made it pip! So . . that was a snippet of the RnB Christmas collabo - me & the legendary John, soon to be topping your Christmas list! P.S. It's a SGSHW!"Carey will also be releasing a collaboration with Justin Bieber on the traditional Christmas tune "All I Want For Christmas Is You," with the video now in production.

It just wouldn’t be Christmas without Mariah Carey. The festive diva teamed up with Justin Bieber to shoot a video for their remake of Mariah’s classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You” on Wednesday (Nov. 2) in New York City. The “SuperFestive!” version of their duet appears on Bieber’s holiday album Under the Mistletoe.

The superstars shut down Macy’s for the late-night shoot directed by Sanaa Hamri (“Crybaby”) and even got some early Christmas shopping done. Roc and Roe’s mom modeled a glamorous look inspired by a vintage animated Christmas card as shot scenes in a sleigh, while Bieber dressed for the season in a flannel shirt and red vest. They were joined on set by Mariah’s puppy Jill E. Beans and “American Idol’s” Randy Jackson, who helped put the collaboration together.
